These annual events have been about embracing and valuing different kinds of knowledge and showing how we can work collaboratively as researchers, voluntary organisations, clinicians and people with lived experience.

In our final event we want to deepen our focus on building inclusive research, which was the foundation of our very successful 2025 event.

  • When: 15 January 2026, 10am-2.30pm
  • Where: Great Hall, Somerset House, Strand Campus, King’s College London, WC2R 2LS
  • Reserve your place here

About the event

This half-day event will include presentations and space for reflection, discussion and exchange (more details to follow). There will also be an opportunity to network with delegates and to visit stands showcasing projects and activities undertaken by researchers, health and social care practitioners, voluntary sector and community partners.

We will feature research and practice which puts lived experience front and centre, engages with histories of social exclusion and deprivation, and addresses how different forces of discrimination and advantage can come together to shape health inequities.

We will discuss the following questions:

  • What does it take for researchers and clinicians to build trust with social groups and communities who have faced exclusion from both research and health and care services?
  • What does it mean to work together with minoritised people who may now be facing growing hostility and insecurity in the UK?
