At the #EIE2025, implementation – the translation, uptake, and integration of research findings within the daily routines of human services – takes centre stage.
At the #EIE2025, implementation – the translation, uptake, and integration of research findings within the daily routines of human services – takes centre stage.
At the European Implementation Event 2025 #EIE2025, you will learn about the latest, cutting-edge implementation science and practice, participate in inspiring and surprising discussions with international colleagues, expand your professional network, and be inspired by the diversity of this exciting field.
This year’s theme is:
The field of implementation science and related disciplines such as knowledge translation, mobilization, and improvement science have experienced remarkable growth over the past few decades. Researchers and practitioners within these fields share a common goal: to create impact by developing and using effective practices and policies across health, social welfare, and education.
However, the past two decades of implementation research and practice have demonstrated primarily one thing: that implementation is complex. How to understand this complexity in detail and navigate it to create impact effectively remains less clear. Furthermore, critics lament that implementation science risks showing too little concern for the real-world conditions under which changes in practice and policy must be made. They call for a better balance between scientific rigor in implementation research and its on-the-ground relevance in implementation practice.

The call to submit an abstract is now open.
The deadline for submitting abstracts is 12 January 2025.
The #EIE2025 brings together individuals and organisations engaged in synthesising, translating, adopting and implementing evidence in human service practice and policy.
You may work in health, social welfare, education or other human service sectors; you may be a psychologist, social worker, occupational therapist, nurse, sociologist, economist or have a totally different educational background; researchers as well as practitioners, funders, organisational leaders, intermediaries and other roles are welcome at the event – as are those who are new to the field and those with extensive knowledge and experience.
The European Implementation Event 2025 is co-hosted by the European Implementation Collaborative (EIC), the UK Implementation Society and King's College London.
When and where: 4-6 June 2025, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK
In 2025, the European Implementation Event and the UK and Ireland Implementation Science Research Conference team up to create an even bigger implementation event in Europe.
