Amy Gadoud

Topic: Amy Gadoud will discuss how the NIHR can support recruitment to studies.

Dr Amy Gadoud  is a senior lecturer in palliative medicine at Lancaster Medical School and the NIHR Integrated Clinical Academic Training Lead. Her research focuses on equality in access to palliative care. She is the first national palliative care lead for the NIHR Research Delivery Network and works as an honorary community consultant in palliative medicine at Trinity Hospice and Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

 

Professor Andrew Davies

Topic: Professor Andrew Davies and Melanie Waghorn  will discuss experiences from CHELsea II: Cluster Randomised trial of clinically assisted hydration in patients in the last days of life.

Professor Andrew Davies is a Professor of Palliative Medicine at Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, and Our Lady's Hospice in Dublin. He has extensive experience in supportive care, palliative care, and end-of-life care, with research interests including cancer-related anorexia, opioid-induced constipation, symptom assessment, and clinically assisted hydration.

Melanie Waghorn is a senior research nurse and the lead research nurse for the CHELsea II trial.
