22 October 2020 (12.00-12.45pm)

Professor Annette Boaz, Kingston University and St George’s, University of London, and Dr Carolyn Johnston, St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will be talking about service innovation and transformation in the provision of care for critically ill patients with Covid-19.

About this event

The Covid-19 crisis has seen a rapid uptake of knowledge to support the improvement of healthcare in response to the dramatic increase in patients requiring critical care. We have an opportunity to capture real time insights into the uptake and impact of innovation and work to improve healthcare underway in critical care. The project is taking an ethnographic approach using critical care staff as ‘embedded’ researchers working with a wider academic team of implementation science specialists. Together they are documenting the work of staff relating to innovation and service improvement in pathways for critically ill patients through observations, interviews and documents.
