To celebrate this milestone, 15 projects of research implementation and impact from across the country have been compiled. These illustrate how ARC research improves the quality, delivery and efficiency of health and care services, improving outcomes for patients and the public both locally and nationally.

Each year, the 15 NIHR ARCs submit impact case studies to the NIHR. The NIHR defines research impact broadly as, ‘research which makes a demonstratable contribution to society and the economy, of benefit to individuals, organsations and nations’.

The case studies help to demonstrate the added value of the NIHR to stakeholder such as, Government ministers, departments, patients, service users and the public.
