The Research Leadership Academy is aimed at health and social care professionals, researchers, public involvement members and PhD students across ARC South London to learn leadership skills and build their careers.

The Academy is led by Prof Cilla Harries, deputy theme lead, research capacity building theme lead who congratulated everyone on completing the Academy and for committing the time to become a research leader.

Research Leadership Academy celebration event

At the event, participants spoke about that they valued from the course including: the range of international mentorship, the supportive environment, networking opportunities gained from action learning sets and inspiring speakers.  They also attended with a guest who may like to join the Academy next year.

Participants said:

Action learning sets were really valuable to share experiences and get advice.”

“I really enjoyed the Action Learning Sets, offering practical advice and support but also being able to share reflections on the content of the course and how others would be applying what they'd learned.”

“Some of the speakers were really good - inspiring and offering clear, relevant advice.

The 2024 Academy (Jan-June) will be free and open to all ARC members and partners. Register your interest for the 2024 Academy
