Feedback from participants included:

I really appreciated the exceptional teaching and support throughout the programme from the professors. Their dedication really came through to me as they gave feedback and guidance to the participants. It felt like a real masterclass in being considerate whilst providing challenge at the same time

The course offered an incredible and unique opportunity to learn and develop the essential leadership and professional skills needed for success in research - covering techniques for personal effectiveness that nobody ever tells you about. As a researcher from an underrepresented discipline I found this experience invaluable

The Leadership and Professional Development course was an excellent experience. It provided a valuable opportunity to learn new skills and strengthen existing abilities in a supportive environment. The interactive elements of the course made the sessions both informative and engaging, and provided a wealth of practical strategies and interpersonal skills. Professor Sartorius and Professor Sir Thornicroft fostered a collaborative learning environment, encouraging us to share feedback, ideas, and knowledge, which was beneficial for building connections with fellow attendees and learning from their experiences. Having attended this course, I feel more confident in my abilities and better equipped to advance my career in mental health research
