How will the research be carried out

The study will analyse electronic healthcare records from the eLIXIR (early-LIfe data cross-LInkage in Research) study. The eLIXIR study is a unique data linkage of hospital records of pregnant women, babies and children with mental health and GP records in south London. Using this data, researchers will investigate differences in maternal and neonatal outcomes, social vulnerability and mental health problems, among women from different ethnic backgrounds and factors that may help explain any observed variation.

Findings will help inform future intervention strategies to reduce morbidity and mortality among women and babies from Black Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.
